Blue Cheese Can be a Remedy for Sicknesses:
Blue cheese a natural antibiotic makes sense. I’ve been feeling sick lately with flu symptoms, and I ate a blue cheese infused hamburger last night. I woke up feeling great. I thought is consuming blue cheese a natural cure or a remedy for sickness. What are the benefits of blue cheese? I mean I had mucus and a bad cough and now it is almost gone. Can this be because of all the blue cheese I ate, and I ate a lot of it.
I did some research on how blue cheese is made and what I learned is blue cheese is made by the way most are. Milk is made into cheese but it is injected with cultures of the mold Penicillium so that you get the blue-green veins in the cheese and its distinct taste. I know that when we get sick with some infection we get vaccinated by the doctor and many times it is Penicillin. It is made from Penicillium as well. Interesting right?

So I thought could this mean since I ate so much blue cheese that contains Penicillium, the same stuff that Penicillin is made of that in essence I gave myself an antibiotic agent on accident? I know the stomach acid probably broke most of it down but I am assuming some of it must have made it through. It seems that is correct with taking natural Penicillin pills as well. The stomach breaks most of the benefits down but still some gets where it needs to go. Here are some references.
It looks like there could be a correlation in consuming Penicillium and Penicillin pills. In the search of wellness and natural remedies; it does seem that eating a lot of blue cheese when sick could be good and reflects the benefits of blue cheese as a natural cure and remedy for sicknesses.
